After months of living on the government dole, Our Dear Leader has allowed Chrysler to file for bankruptcy. Our Dear Leader stated:
It’s a partnership that will give Chrysler a chance not only to survive, but to thrive in a global auto industry,” President Barack Obama said from the White House.
I’m not quite sure why someone so allegedly devoted to upholding the free enterprise system that has created more wealth and opportunity than any other system in the world would be speaking at all about a widescale government intervention in the workings of a private company. Perhaps its due to the fact that after emerging from bankruptcy, the UAW will own 55% of the company and the U.S. government (that’s us folks!) will own 8%, and of course the UAW was a MAJOR contributer to Dear Leader’s campaign, not to mention those Michigan delegates that were taken from Clinton and given to Obama. To suggest such a thing would be cynical.
Some have suggested that Dear Leader is perhaps a socialist bent on taking the United States down the failed path of the Soviet Union. However his economic policy, and the veritable cult of personality that surrounds him, is really much more fascistic.
Fascism!! You say that’s impossible? You say that I’m merely fear mongering and need to adjust my tinfoil hat? Consider this…
Fascism as an economic system does not seek to control through direct state operation the means of production in a society.
Where socialism sought totalitarian control of a society’s economic processes through direct state operation of the means of production, fascism sought that control indirectly, through domination of nominally private owners. Where socialism nationalized property explicitly, fascism did so implicitly, by requiring owners to use their property in the “national interest”—that is, as the autocratic authority conceived it.
National interest? Hmm.. you mean like “green technology” and “fuel efficient cars?” Sounds just like Obama’s agenda to me.
Great post EJ. It is interesting that the MSM is not mentioning the fact that we were dummies to give Chrysler money to begin with. We bailed them out and they lost went bankrupt anyway. Why? Because they were not good at selling cars. They failed , they should suffer the consequences.
You’re so right afrocity, but the MSM is too invested in Obama’s presidency to question anything. A complicit and complacent media is a disaster for our nation, whether supporting the republicans or the democrats
